What Voltax does
Voltax reads Saudi purchase invoices — PDF, JPG, or PNG — and turns them into a single, structured VAT spreadsheet. Each invoice is checked against its ZATCA QR code where one is present, cross-checked for a valid 15% VAT calculation, and scanned for duplicates and sales invoices before it ever reaches your sheet. You upload files, enter your 15-digit VAT number, and download an Excel or CSV file with every invoice's date, supplier, invoice number, VAT number, taxable amount, VAT, and total already filled in.
Who it's for
Voltax is built for anyone in Saudi Arabia who spends time re-typing purchase invoices into a spreadsheet before filing VAT: in-house accountants closing out a filing period, bookkeepers juggling several clients' invoice folders, and small business owners who would rather upload a folder of PDFs than open each one by hand. It only processes purchase invoices — invoices you received from suppliers — so your input-VAT register stays clean of anything you issued yourself.
A worked example: 10 invoices → one sheet
Say you have 10 PDF invoices from different suppliers in a folder, plus one you accidentally exported twice. Upload all 11 files and enter your VAT number. Voltax reads each one, flags the duplicate as skipped instead of double-counting it, and returns 10 rows with taxable amount, 15% VAT, and total already calculated. If one supplier's invoice shows a VAT amount that doesn't match a straight 15% of the taxable amount, that row is flagged so you can look at it before filing — instead of quietly submitting a wrong number.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Upload | 11 files (10 unique invoices + 1 accidental duplicate) |
| Process | Each invoice read via AI, cross-checked against its QR code |
| Result | 10 rows extracted, 1 duplicate skipped, mismatches flagged |
| Export | One Excel or CSV file, ready to file |
What "ZATCA-ready" means
ZATCA — Saudi Arabia's Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority — requires every tax invoice to carry specific fields (dates, VAT numbers, taxable amount, VAT amount) and, for simplified invoices, a QR code encoding them. "ZATCA-ready" means Voltax's output sheet already has the fields your input-VAT (purchase) register needs, in a layout accountants use, with the 15% calculation validated per invoice. It does not mean Voltax files your return for you, or replaces advice from a licensed accountant — always review flagged rows before submitting.
Privacy, in plain terms
Your invoice files are processed over an encrypted connection, held in temporary session storage only for as long as it takes to extract the data (or up to two hours of inactivity), and then deleted automatically. The structured data extracted from your invoices is encrypted at rest and cleared on the same schedule. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Common questions
Does Voltax replace my accountant?
No. Voltax prepares your input-VAT spreadsheet from your purchase invoices — it doesn't file your return or give tax advice. Always review flagged rows and confirm with your accountant before submitting.
What if an invoice has no QR code?
Voltax still reads it using AI extraction — you'll just see it marked for review in your results, since there's no QR code to cross-check the figures against.
Is my data kept after I download my sheet?
No — your session's files and extracted data are deleted automatically once you start a new batch, cancel, or after two hours of inactivity.
